TIPPLE TREE BEYA - owned & managed by Tricia Sturman since 1998

Tipple Tree Beya has a choice of accommodations, 3 beach apartments, 1 private cabin, 2 rooms with private bath, 1 room with outside private bath.

We offer clean, comfortable, and friendly accommodations.

We have two one bedroom beach apartments with bath.  One two bedroom/two bath beach apartment with night time A/C included. All  apartments feature full kitchens, and are perfect for those who wish for a bit more space, and a little more comfort.

We are located on the beach front in Hopkins Village, a small, traditional, Garifuna fishing village right on the Caribbean Sea.

The guesthouse rooms share a large shaded veranda with hammocks. Rooms with private bath have a hot shower and ceiling fans.

All Tipple Tree Beya accommodations are well ventilated and screened and Wi-Fi is available in all of them.

The cabin has a private bathroom/hot shower, microwave (most people do lunch and breakfast and eat out on the evening), a refrigerator, and a coffee pot. It is open plan with a double bed, a double sofa bed, sitting area, the kitchen, and the bathroom. The cabin - in Belizean style - is raised on posts with hammocks and a picnic table underneath - a perfect spot to relax in the shade.

Tipple Tree Beya is in the village of Hopkins, which I think is part of the charm, but it may not be for everybody.  Hopkins is still very much a community and not so much a tourist destination. Life in the village means children, dogs, and chickens for example, so if you are staying in Hopkins then roosters crowing, and not a lot of nightlife, will not bother you - instead you are looking to immerse yourself in the real Belize, not the resort life.

FOOD - Hopkins has both Belizean and international restaurants

There are places to eat within walking distance. Watering Hole Restaurant, Innies Restaurant, and Sandy Beach are all Belizean and very convenient. Frogs Point and Iris’ restaurant are international fare and close by. If you book a room with coffee pot, you might want to bring your favorite coffee with you, ground coffee is available in the village but choice is limited.

TOURS - Go fishing, diving, snorkeling, hike the jungle, see Mayan ruins, tube rivers and caves - all in Belize

Tipple Tree Beya rents bicycles and kayaks. We are just four miles away from Sittee River Village where you can go for jungle river trips, and ten miles away from the Jaguar Preserve for hiking - day trips to the preserve are best with a rental car or by arranging for a guided tour, not a problem, we can arrange tours for you with local tour guides. An example of some tour prices for two persons are: Jaguar Preserve, $260 BZ including transfers from Tipple Tree and guide, packed lunch (about $12 BZ per person) and entrance ($10 BZ per person) extra. Xunantunich Mayan ruins and Blue Hole National Park $410 BZ including transfers and guide.

Snorkelling trips to the reef cost about $200 US for 2 persons. Dive operators are in the village, and Hopkins has some of the best fishing guides in Belize. We occasionally see manatee and dolphins right from the beach- no need to get out of your hammock for this one!
